Solid Rock Carpenters is partnering with Appalachia Service Project and The Home Depot Foundation to lead a Framing Day Event in West Virginia.

The task: Frame 16 homes in 3 hours with ~400 volunteers!

SRC has helped lead this project once in 2017 and again in 2019. We are excited to have been asked to join forces with ASP and THDF again!

In order to pull off this event, we need to prep lumber locally, and then truck it to WV for our travel team to use for the event. If you have been a part of our efforts locally in North Chicago, you will be familiar with our to do list.

We have warehouse space in Mount Prospect and will have many opportunities to come and volunteer a few hours of your time to cut, label, and organize lots of lumber.

***Volunteers 13-17years old must be accompanied by a parent/adult.***

We expect to be working at the warehouse through May 20

If you would like to volunteer, please sign up for a shift at the warehouse! If this shift doesn't work for your schedule, look for another email and continue to check the website. We look forward to serving alongside you soon!

PAST PROJECTS BY THE NUMBERS

Solid Rock Carpenters (SRC) has accomplished a number of incredible milestones.

50 Homes Built

SRC has been involved in building 50 homes nationally and internationally. Many of the wall sections for the homes have been built at a local framing day events and assembeled with ministries in the communities we serve.

58 Trips Completed

These trips have engaged more than 4,000 participants. For a map of past trip locations, see below.

18 Framing Days

Taking place in the suburbs of Chicago, SRC’s Framing Days have engaged 2,112 participants who've spent approximately 13,728 hours building homes locally and sending them to the area or homeowner in need.

2 Breakthrough Ministry Bed Projects

A total of 650 participants devoted 2,000 hours to complete these projects.
